I have yet to sit on a stock seat that hasn't had my butt aching within 50 miles, forcing me to squirm around for a better riding position. We all have different body shapes, pain thresholds, and riding styles, but many riders have real problems getting comfortable on stock seats — hence, DIYMotorCycleSeat.com.

This site exists to help you find simple, inexpensive ways to make your seat more comfortable and less painful. All you need to change your seat from torture rack to friend is some common tools, a desire to learn, and some patience. And by knowing how to do it yourself, you'll be able to tweak it whenever you like.

Click on the links in the top navigation bar to learn the basics about foam, types of foam, seat comfort, suggestions on how to modify your own seat, some links to related info, and other topics.

Here are a bunch of pics that I've had around and thought may be helpful. I'll add more as I find them. If you've got some good ones to share let me know.
